Do you feel the heavy burden of too many responsibilities and stress on your shoulders

Do you feel like throwing in the towel and wishing your problems will magically disappear?

Are you too scared to face your feelings and challenges, and just get on with things while it feels like you are dying inside?

Do you feel like you are drifting and not truly living?

If you say yes to any of these questions I want to assure you that you are not alone.

Over the years, I have served many clients who felt that their life was spiralling out of control. In fact, I too have sometimes felt like hiding away and not facing life’s challenges. During times like these, it is important to remember that we are all human, that life happens and that we can always ask for help. To support my clients and you to deal with life’s challenges gracefully, I have developed the following guide.

Five habits to help you take charge and live a beautiful life

Know what you want.

This first and most important habit sounds easy, but I can tell you that most people are not aware of what their heart’s desires are!

Many years ago, I read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It was probably one of the first self-help books ever written. And even though he wrote it in the 1920’s, it is still relevant today. (If you have not read it yet, please make some time and delve into this little gem.)

In the book, Hill writes that DESIRE is the starting point of all achievement.

Take charge of your life by knowing your heart’s desires.

Invest in your personal growth.

No one on this planet is more valuable than you. When you invest in yourself, grow yourself, and learn how to use your mind, you will know for certain what your purpose is, and it will give life meaning.

Take charge of your life by investing in self-development.

Develop a mental model.

Charlie Munger, the 94-year old American polymath, and best friend and business partner of Warren Buffett introduced me to the concept of mental models.

A mental model is a plan in your mind of how you will address problems, make decisions, and change perceptions.

I believe that having a specific mental model is a huge investment in taking charge of your life.

Take charge of your life by creating a mental model to make better decisions.

Create financial stability.

We all know that when financial stress comes in the front door, happiness and contentment leave through the back door.

One certain way to create financial stability is to have a savings account. It serves as a cushion so you can sleep soundly at night knowing that you have something to fall back on.

You also create financial stability by growing yourself, developing a mental model, understanding how money works and by empowering yourself with financial literacy.

Take charge of your life by creating financial stability.

Believe in yourself.

Know that you are unique; that there is nobody like you. Nobody has your gifts and talents, value the same things as you do and bring the same service to others and the world. Believe that you have something special to bring to the world; believe that you are here to make a difference irrespective of how big or small the difference is.

Take charge of your life by believing that you are here to make a difference to your life and the life of others.

These five habits have helped many of my clients transform their lives into one with purpose, meaning and happiness.

It is my wish for you that you too will take charge and live a beautiful life!

PS, I received this message last week from a client:

Ilze, I just wanted to thank you so much for all you have done for me and how I am just so grateful to have you in my life. You are such an inspiration to me. You have contributed so much to my life and I know that in a couple of instances, it is directly because of you that I have been able to achieve so much and feel so much better as this year progresses. I really hope you have a wonderful week and I hope you and your family are doing well. Amanda
